Why does UK Open Learning accredit many of its courses through the NOCN?
A. NOCN work with Open College Networks (OCNs) and other stakeholders including Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) to develop qualifications. N/OCN qualifications and courses are designed to meet the needs of the education and training providers we work with. Our regional structure and links with other OCNs in the national network bring opportunities for our providers by ensuring the qualifications and courses on offer meet the needs of organisations at a local, regional and national level.
Together as a Network organisation, comprising all 11 OCNs, NOCN, is one of the largest adult education Awarding Bodies, leading in credit-based learning. There are more than 3,000 centres nationally, offering Open College Network Qualifications and/or localised courses Certificates are awarded to approximately one million learners every year.

A. When you receive your course pack you read through your course like a book then go back to the beginning and start again. After each section there are assignments and out tasks to complete which are sent to your tutor for marking.

A. No, there is no official word count for an assignment but if you submit just a sentence or two you will fail and be asked to do it again.

A. We do not send sales people to your house who are paid large commissions for selling a course to you that may not suit your needs.
